Cape Verde was a stopover for ships travelling between Europe and the rest of the world for centuries. It used to be a Portuguese colony, and today still retains the language and cultural affinities with its former overlord. It’s one of the most well developed countries in Africa and it’s also becoming a top tourism destination. You can now support this channel via Patreon, by accessing the link bellow. My girlfriend and I visited Cape Verde (via Lisbon) from London in November 2015. We spent a few days in Sal and São Vicente and a week at Tarrafel in Santo Antão and had a great time. Claudia 's parents are from Cape Verde and she had never visited before so it was a good opportunity to experience a little of her heritage.
