During our holiday to Cape Verde, we did a tour of the island, and at one point, we stopped at the top of a hill in the centre of Espargos, which happened to offer unbelievable aerial views of aircraft departing Sal Airport! Seen here is TACV's only 757-200 departing to Lisbon, after arriving from Praia. Listen to the amazing Pratt & Whitney PW2037 engine sound as it roars past us! Airport: Amilcar Cabral, Sal Airport code: SID/GVAC Aircraft: D4-CBP Flight Number: VR606 Runway: 01 Date: 02/08/2017 Time: 15:00 *Sorry for poor video quality, this was filmed with my phone. If I knew we would get this view, I would have taken my camera!
Amilcar Cabral International Airport in Sal. What to expect when leaving it. For those of you that dont know, the airport is named after Amilcar Cabral, who lead the fight for independence in the early 1970's. Ohlsson Properties - www.opiproperty.com
A short film showing the arrival area (passport Control) and visa payment room in Cape Verde. If you have paid for your visas or have proof you have paid for them before arriving, print it off and bring it with you. I understand some airlines include it in their package, however if it is not included, check with the airline before flying and print it out (if possible). When i was there, a couple of tourists were asked to pay the visa again (25 euros) due to confusion with their particular travel agent and the border control and they were told to claim it back when they arrived home. The Police border / passport control Computers in Sal are not connected up to the UK. Other help on arrival: Taxis from the airport to Santa Maria should be 10 euros by day (2017). Bit more at night. ...

Cape Verde was a stopover for ships travelling between Europe and the rest of the world for centuries. It used to be a Portuguese colony, and today still retains the language and cultural affinities with its former overlord. It’s one of the most well developed countries in Africa and it’s also becoming a top tourism destination. You can now support this channel via Patreon, by accessing the link bellow.
